''Starshina 2nd stage'' ((ロシア語:Старшина́ второй статьи́; literal: petty officer second stage)) is in the Navy of the Russian Federation the designation to the lowest rank in the ''patty officer´s career group''. The rank is equivalent to ''Starshij sershant'' in Army and Air Force. According to NATO-ranksystem the rank might be comparable to OR-4 in Anglophone armed forces. The rank was introduced to the Soviet Navy November 2, 1940.
